Pikeville Kentucky reports Scott Blankenship of Three Rivers Michigan received a life sentence for the December 27 Merchants and Miners bank robbery at Freeborn. Blankenship pleaded guilty before Judge R Monroe Fields after a jury was instructed on possible punishment of death or life. The theft totaled nearly $7,000. an escape attempt failed and he was later captured in the mountains.
