Charleston February 8 The Mingo county Democrat delegate Cline introduced a bill in the legislature authorizing local housing authorities to engage in slum clearance projects with city consent. Senate action proposed raises for state police from 15 dollars monthly for recruits to 240 dollars yearly for inspectors. A new captain at headquarters would be appointed, creating two captains rather than one captain and a lieutenant. Senator Hannig seeks a pari mutuel betting tax increase from one to three percent at horse tracks with one quarter of proceeds paid to municipalities for fire and police protection.

Ours of Wheeling was recovered Sunday at 3 10 p m from about 30 feet above the spillway to the flood control works in Ty garts Valley river South Elkins after a four day search. Coroner Gray of Randolph county ruled his death accidental drowning with no visible injuries.
