High School Senior Dorothy Lavender Shot Dead
Princeton area reports a deadly early morning dispute between 18 year old Dorothy Louise Lavender a Beaver High School student and her 10 year old foster brother Joseph A Greenberg who allegedly pulled his father's pistol from under a mattress and fired. Dorothy died later at Nemours hospital near Princeton with investigators saying the quarrel centered on a bus dispute. The scene was described by Sheriff G H Crumpecker as neighbors found the sobbing boy in the bedroom beside the body as Dorothy's sister Kate Lavender age 13 witnessed the events.

Ruling Upheld in Taylor County Suit Over Back Pay
The state supreme court of appeals in Charleston reversed a Taylor County circuit court ruling and awarded Ruby Ware $1,796.98 against Dr Hays, her former employer.
