FARMER KILLED AS PRISONERS FLEE IN ALABAMA
In Atmore Alabama a mob of 29 escapees from a state prison farm moved north armed after killing farmer Grover Kirby and wounding another named Parker during their bid for freedom. Kirby died at a local hospital while Parker remained seriously hurt in Century Florida as the group seized shotguns and ammunition.
