Warmer, sunny noon as no snow is forecast for Grafton with highs near 45 to 50 degrees. Overnight low around 29 degrees, noon read 34 as winter appears to arrive but remains mild in Morgantown and Elkins with brief snow in places.

Nine Accidents in County in One Day

A holiday warning was issued by Corporal G F P Randall of the State Police after reporting nine traffic accidents in the county yesterday. Icy roads blamed for the mishaps, with three crashes west of Grafton on US Route 50, one at Flemington, four east of Grafton on Route 50, and one inside the city. No serious injuries were reported.

West Virginia nurses to join Army Nurse Corps drive

Sixty three West Virginia nurses will soon wear Army Nurse Corps uniforms as the American Nurses Association plans recruiting from the Mountain State. The nationwide need is 3,000. West Virginia will furnish 59 general duty nurses, plus a head nurse, nurse anesthetist, operating room nurse, and psychiatric nurse.
