Cline’s Packard Hit by National Limited in Fog
Ralph Cline, master mechanic at the railroad’s Grafton shops, escaped a fatal crash when his Packard convertible was struck by the B&O National Limited at Handley’s Crossing at 1:30 this morning. His passenger Jesse Horton was seriously injured and taken to Graf ton City hospital. Cline was dazed with a head injury and remained bedbound. Horton received treatment for shock and concussion. Cline blamed rain and heavy fog for the misjudged turn onto Walnut street. He recalled trying to avoid the train as the car slid into the ditch. Continued on page six.
