Memorial for Union Soldier to Be Erected
In Charleston on December 18, a General Howard B. Lee opinion suggests the veterans memorial to Union soldiers and sailors may proceed on state house grounds with approval of plans by architect for the capitol. The capitol commission debated plans and possible constitutional questions while Roy H. Stewart was named designer and an appropriation from the 1927 legislature supported the monument.
