Farmer-Father Is Held For Slaying of Infant
Youngstown, Ohio report states coroner Hauser will arrest Frank Townsend, a middle aged farmer, on manslaughter charges over the death of his 10 month old son Alvin Leroy. Rural School Destroyed By Blaze Near Berkeley Springs
BERKELEY SPRINGS, Dec. 17, The Cherry Run two room school near here was destroyed by fire late Monday afternoon just after dismissal. The blaze, believed caused by defective wiring, left 45 students from eight grades to be temporarily housed in other Morgan County schools. Principal Willard Braithwaite supervised the response and a piano bought last week was among the destroyed equipment. Insurance covers the loss.
