Minister Charged With Manslaughter After Icy Piked Crash
Rev Leonard Lloyd Reckart pastor of the Knotsville Methodist circuit waived hearing after arraignment in Philippi and was bound over to the Barbour county grand jury on a manslaughter charge. He posted a $500 bond and was released. Fred Hossong, 35, of Bridgeville Pa., a truck driver, died when Reckart's coupe skidded on the icy Philippi pike and pinned him against his stalled truck. Three others were injured, including Dorothy Proudfoot of Walnut street Grafton. Reckart says his car lost control on the slick highway and denies responsibility.
