A Pleasant Creek family of nine was burned out of their home with only a baby blanket salvaged. Ervin James Poling, a Baltimore and Ohio Railroad employee, and his wife Mrs Poling were at home when the fire, starting likely in a rear bedroom, was discovered about 3 p.m. The blaze consumed the house before responders arrived.
