Mystery Baby Epidemic Claims Eleventh Victim

McDonald E H Fats McDonald ex town sergeant of Flemington freed from Taylor county jail after 30 days of a one year sentence. Circuit Judge Dent granted two year parole with probation. Prosecutor War der agreed to the order after a $50 fine and costs were paid. McDonald cited large family as reason for leniency. his counsel had urged a brief jail term.

Style Show and Pageant At Grafton High School

The Grafton Woman's club public welfare department and Grafton High School band plan a Tuesday night style review and concert at the high school auditorium. The program includes instrumental numbers, singing, and dancing acts followed by a "Pageant of Shawls" featuring pieces from Spain Italy Scotland and Ireland and a 100 year span of shawls, with one over a century old.

Body of Missing Man Found Shot to Death

Bluefield Virginia officers talk with Coy Asbury as they pursue details of Robert Jones's disappearance. Jones, about 30, a former Bluefield miner, was found shot to death under a haystack near Bluefield after going missing November 3. West Virginia and Virginia officers arrested Asbury in Premier, near Welch, on a slaying warrant amid suspicions of his involvement.

Masked Robbers Take Weekend Receipts at Two Theatres

Two masked robbers bound five people at the Family theatre in Monroe Michigan this morning and escaped with weekend receipts from both the Family and Dixie theaters owned by the same operator. Manager Thomas Denniston was forced at gunpoint to open the office safe. Loot estimated over $1 500.

Thieves Steal Chinese Silver from New York Pier

A packing case was broken open on a New York pier last week and 2,000 Chinese silver dollars were stolen. Police, unacquainted with Chinese currency, launched a hunt and suspected gold merchants as possible receivers of the silver as old metal.

A third typhoon in two weeks battered the northern Visayas, with Mindoro storm lingering and Leyte hard hit by Armistice day winds. Thirty Stores Enter Window Shopping Contest

Two more stores joined the 28 announced Saturday for a window shopping contest that will award thirty prizes, one per merchant. Tickets are distributed this week and numbers will be placed in store windows on December 14. Jury Chosen to Try Three in Ex-Convict Case

A jury was chosen to hear a case involving three defendants including an ex convict. The panel was completed and the court set December ninth for the commencement of the trial. Lawyers for the accused were present as proceedings continued.
