Taylor county plans to distribute about $2,714 in expenses for the recent general election. Registrars will be paid $4 each for two days and $10 rent per voting place.

A coroner s jury in Portland added murder to the state charge against Nelson C Bowles 34 and Irma G Loucks after three hours of deliberation. It found Mrs Bowles 33 died from a knife wound inflicted with murderous intent by Loucks Bowles or both. The three day hearing explored claims that Mrs Bowles took her own life.

City Hospital today said Mrs D R Shafer remained in serious condition after a Thursday evening auto accident. She spent a comfortable night and was resting but no action has been taken against the driver. The incident occurred as she crossed the road to enter a car where her husband and daughter waited to take her home. They had spent the day in Grafton and stopped at a neighbor's house. The husband and daughter did not see the machine, alleged to be driven by John Ross, a former president of Taylor County Court.
Salt Lake City December 6 an auctioneer Sam Frank aged 36 of Memphis Tennessee was slain in his hotel room early today. He was robbed of about 5000 dollars in jewelry and cash. The body was found by a maid. He was bound with a cord gagged with a sock and struck on the head with a beer bottle. The floor showed cigarette butts and the phone hook was tied with a stocking.
