Dam project meet held yesterday plans flood control dam
A mass meeting at the court house by the Taylor County Board of Trade backed a federal flood control dam two miles above Grafton Park on the Tygart Valley river. The project, part of a ten-dam plan, would cost about 12 million for the Grafton site, create 3,000 jobs, and may include hydroelectric power. A committee was appointed to coordinate with other towns and pursue the dam with further study before broad support. More than 100 residents from multiple towns attended a Philippi meeting afterward.
