County Court Names Arnold Secretary of New Welfare Board

The Taylor County Welfare Board plan, approved by county commissioners, tentatively names W. H. Arnold, former Salvation Army post commandant, as secretary. A 18 member board from each magisterial district will coordinate county relief agencies with the state welfare system, excluding the Salvation Army, and report to the county court through the secretary. Grafton Board of Trade proposes two large signs directing travelers from the National Turnpike to downtown Taylor county capital. A committee including Mrs. W. A. Beavers and C. A. Drought Relief Plans Studied By Financiers

Financial representatives of 15 states met today with Secretary Hyde to study drought relief proposals. A trio of bankers Melvin A. Kidnappers Use Carrier Pigeons for Ransom Note

New York investigators said a 16-year-old Long Beach girl, Seraphina Fataya, vanished after a parental dispute. Her father Anthony Fataya received letters signed The Blackshirts demanding $10,000 and instructed to pay at a cobbler's shop where pigeons would be found.
