Halifax N S Aug 25 AP The German seaplane Dornier Wal piloted by Captain Wolfgang Von Gronau and three crew arrived after a six hour flight from Labrador with a plan to refuel in Halifax before continuing to the United States The flight started from Queensport and the return for fog checks and fuel supplies delayed plans to move on to New York.

Two Immigration Inspectors Slain in Train Robbery
In Fort Frances Ontario on August 25 a bandit killed two United States immigration inspectors on a national passenger train near Omo. The victims were Laurence Bates 30 of Rainier and Jones of Warroad. The attacker Emerick Frenatte 21 of Fort Frances was later trapped and mortally wounded in a confrontation with authorities. The conductor recounted the shooting as the bandit forced him toward the vestibule using handcuffs seen on the killer’s arm.

Running Gun Fight Staged Through Washington Streets

Gay party ends in melee with hold up band slay guest
Cleveland August 25. A gay party of young folks from prominent families ended in a melee with holdup men. Miller Wilkison 23 led a group resisting five robbers armed with rifles and pistols. he was shot in the head as police arrived and engaged the intruders. Wilkison a Princeton senior and son of Fred F Wikison. About 40 persons attended at Ray S Dunham’s home. Dunham tried to fetch his car but guests blocked robbers. Family of six die in wreck at St Anthony Indiana
A drought driven trip to obtain water ended in tragedy when a car driven by William Hedinger collided with a Southern railway freight train in St Anthony. Six members of Hedinger's family were killed and three seriously injured.
