Carnival worker admits killing Kentucky cheerleader
A 26-year-old Hazard carnival worker, William Gamble, admitted he killed 17-year-old Muriel Baldridge, a Prestonsburg high school cheerleader. Gamble, charged with murder, was moved from Cincinnati Jail to an undisclosed Kentucky location after statements leading to the crime. Olen Collins of Duco, also a carnival worker, implicated by police, underwent tests along with Gamble who initially denied involvement.

Escaped Convicts Vanish From Dawson State Camp Near Kingwood
Six inmates escaped from the Dawson State prison road camp near Kingwood after climbing a 10 foot fence topped with barbed wire.
