Four Wrecks Cause Heavy Damage Loss
Four weekend automobile crashes caused about 350 dollars in property damage. No serious injuries were reported. WBLK engineer W P Heitzman hit a gas pump at Dutch Marple's on Simpson Flemington road at 12 30 am, spraying paint on the pump. The service station owner suffered 100 dollars in damages when the car knocked the pump over. Earlier, G W Haller of Arden struck two pumps at the same station. Heitzman allegedly left the scene.

CLARKSBURG Aug 16 Workers from the A F of L Affiliated Cooks and Waiters union walked out shutting five eateries while a sixth stayed closed. William E Kirk said three restaurants signed contracts with the union over the weekend and reopened. Hi s Boyd Anderson's restaurant, one of the largest in the state, was closed last week as striking employees were replaced by family members at several lunch counters.

Preacher's Son Dies Of Burns At Camp Meeting
Martinsburg reports Junior Woods seven year old son of Rev. Enoch Woods of Pasadena Maryland died in a local hospital after a tent fire at Potomac Park camp meeting grounds north of the city. The fire started from an electric bulb with newspapers covering it catching fire first. The boy and his mother were inside the tent with other boys. the others escaped. Blood transfusions failed to save him. Rev. Woods, a Pentecostal preacher, was attending the camp meeting over the weekend.

Police arrest in death case linked to January 9 incident
Brooke county and state police announced the arrest of Ransom Dailey, 38, a former bus driver now running a Chester restaurant, in connection with the death of John Monroe, 34, of Steubenville.
