Ancient Mill to Make Way for Palatine Line Reconstruction
Fairmont August 10 Work continues on clearing the B and C right of way along the Palatine branch near New street. A house at New and Mill streets was dismantled and moved to James Stealey’s lot on Merchant street for rebuilding. The Harden Pottery site and the historic old Mill property, once part of Fairmont’s flood history, will be removed as Wilfong brothers plan to start demolition. The project will leave a clear front from Hoult to the new bridge except for part of the McElfresh property kept briefly.
