Interference blamed in sudden death of colonel
In Washington on August 4 officials attributed the sudden death of Col. Carroll P. Armistead, 64, a Spanish American and World War veteran, to an interference complex in a young sailor and mental patient at St Elizabeths hospital. The patient touched Armistead, provoking a strike after a delusion led by illness. Armistead collapsed and died, likely from a cerebral hemorrhage after the incident.
