Nearly all strip and deep mines on the Monongah division of the Baltimore and Ohio rail road were operating today after a three day rainstorm. Coal car loadings were expected to reach 2000, with yesterday’s 1610 cars showing solid improvement over earlier days when rains halted output. Only mines near Shinnston were idle due to a large landslide cutting power lines.

Limer Sentenced Six Years For Armed Robbery
Warren Wayne Limer a 27 year old Weston man received six years in the state penitentiary at Moundsville after pleading guilty to armed robbery of the Kazy Nook restaurant in Taylor County. He was arraigned with three others as Judge W Merle Watkins presided. Ruth Wilmon West also pleaded guilty and was placed on probation after posting a 500 bond. West and Limer had been held on 2000 bonds. They allegedly robbed the restaurant at gunpoint taking 50 from the cash register and forcing a waitress and her sister to the basement.

Dump Truck Hits Rock Island Rocket In Fatal Crash
SAUL FELDMAN reports from KREMUS Oklahoma that a dump truck traveling at 78 mph struck a speeding Rock Island train, derailing three coaches and killing two passengers while injuring thirty nine others. The impact sent coaches into a freight train, two coaches caught fire, and the left sides were ripped off. Most casualties occurred in the struck coach. one victim remains unidentified.
