Willing Workers Mission Society of the Lutheran church holds a bazaar at the Munkeye on Saturday September 29. Fancy work aprons and quilts will be auctioned. Ladies' Aid serves chicken sandwiches pumpkin pie with whipped cream doughnuts and coffee at Hawk Eye.
A sacred concert was held at South Walnut church by the Vana College Male Quartet on Tuesday evening. A large crowd attended and the event was a success. Members included Carl Nelson Milwaukee Walter Nelson Holgar Bertelsen and Wimer Christianen the manager, all of Raine Wisconsin. Ensilage harvesters reduce labor by filling silos, replacing corn binders and silage cutters. She is daughter of Mr and Mrs Joseph Gabrielson, a bookkeeper for Spencer Telephone Company. The groom is son of Mr and Mrs Dirk Jackson of Ruthven. Iowa State College extension service reports that in July 1928 corn beef cattle and hogs all fell short of their 1913 purchasing power when buying food clothing fuel and building materials. Corn was nearest to 1913 power at 04 percent. hogs were 48 percent for building material and clothin g. Corn and hogs rose from June while beef cattle stayed flat.
