Golden Wedding of Mr and Mrs Meredith Celebrated
Mr and Mrs B N Meredith formerly of Graettinger celebrated their fiftieth anniversary at their Auburn home with about 35 relatives and friends. The event featured a surprise party, a long table of refreshments, and welcome speeches by Elder Carroll and other attendees. The couple, married August 27 1865 in Iowa, have nine children and remained active in rural life.

Eagle Grove Aviator in Sunday Crash
Eagle Grove man Alling Weeks, an aviator, flew toward Thor with passenger Seward Heggen. A steering rod failed after leaving town, causing the airplane to dive 200 feet. Weeks escaped unharmed while Heggen suffered a broken jaw and severe internal injuries, believed fatal.

A Whit temore West Bend crash killed J B Besch and his eight year old son when a steering rod failed on a Friday trip to West Bend.
