A new dining addition will open for inspection and extensive Student Council advertising will promote an annual event. The Graettinger marching band is invited to Band Day at Iowa State College in Amey on September 22, 1951, with Iowa State vs Wayne State Teachers opening the season.

Graettinger Pirates Host Homecoming Night October 12 1951
Graettinger hosts homecoming activities including a pep rally and bonfire at Evergreen Park starting at 7 pm on Friday the night before the football game at Evergreen Field under lights against Laurens. A parade with floats queen candidates and the band follows Friday afternoon, plus a dance at Graettinger High School gym after the game. Mr Jones and the student council organize all events.

Class Elections At High School Vote For Officers
Friday morning the class elections were held at the high school. Seniors chose President Jonne Shiley and Vice-president Harvey Hanson with Barbara Jensen as Treasurer. Student Council elected Joan Eisenbaat Rolland Lee duc and Mr. Manchester as Class Sponsor. Juniors elected Marilyn Bon Braih as President, Harriett Herke as Vice-president, Zona Starkey as Secretary, Larry Kirkegaard as Treasurer, Paul Cornel as Student Council, and Pat Burg as Class Sponsor with Mrs Bailey and Mr Jones. Sophomores elected Harley Hanson as President, Shirley Harke as Vice-president, Dorothy ae Ben as Secretary, Karen Petersen as Treasurer, John Elgenbast and Martha Sam Clasp as Student Council. Freshmen chose Curtis Lar og as President, Nolena Jensen as Vice-president, Donna Dalen as Secretary, Cornell Amet Borstead as Student Council.
