Graettinger hosts a large furniture sale by Henderson Furniture Co. successors to P. J. Paulsen with drastic price cuts on all items. Neew furniture just arrived and on display, store interior freshly decorated, manager Lewison inviting local residents to opening day.
Last winter Mary Kathryn Donovan two, Estherville, was struck by a car driven by A W Buck while on a sidewalk tricycle. She suffered a severe foot fracture and nervous aftereffects. Damages sought total 14000 with 12000 for the child and 2000 for hospital costs. Attorney Kennady represents plaintiff, Morse for defense. In Graettinger a crowd gathered Saturday night at Charley Jenson hardware store as pleasant weather drew locals.
Herman Worland reports he held an exceptionally good auction sale last Friday. The day was ideal and attendance was large. Cattle and other items were sold with strong bidding, leaving Worland satisfied with the outcome.
J H Nielsen, 67, Ringsted, a former farmer turned truck driver, died after his rig tipped on a narrow steep highway near the Peter Johansen farm Saturday morning. His wife and daughter survive in Ringsted, with three children living in California. two brothers Carl and Chris nearby. Estherville News notes the accident remains under investigation.
An auto crash on Primary Sixteen near Livermore Sunday left Howard Cornelia of Bayard and C. B. Bastred of Bagley injured. Bastred studied a map as Cornelia failed to miss a standing auto and was taken to Algona hospital. he is reported recovering. An electrical storm damaged transformers at Interstate Power substation and nearby water-tank area, with repair crews working through the day. damage estimated near $200.
P Wiegmann has taken the agency for Brunswick radios, praised as high class machines with hundreds of thousands in operation nationwide. The Hawkeye theatre will show King of Rodeo Saturday evening along with Delivering the Hooda and Trarmyard Valleys in a strong program.
City council met Tuesday evening and decided not to erect the new municipal building until spring. They reasoned bidders cannot publish notices and contract in time before the season advances, so spring is preferable. W H McAninoh bought the former Ward Taft 80 acre farm in Grant township from G W Anderson for 8200 dollars, or 116 25 dollars per acre. A Spirit Lake residence owned by McAninoh was part of the consideration.

M B Flint, longtime Majestic range salesman from Gract tinger, died Sunday morning at about eight after leaving Gract tinger to meet a party at Waterloo. The 60 year old Sanborn resident slumped on the garage floor in Clear Lake and died. He served as mayor of Gract tinger for 17 years.

M Weinholzer purchases the I I Noble residence and four blocks of land worth 38000. The property lies on the hill just west of the HE 8 Georgia residence and is now occupied by Mr and Mrs Hy Wi Fink. Weinholzer and his mother plan to move in by March first.

Byron Ware of east of Grachtin ger died yesterday afternoon around one o'clock after several days with appendicitis. The appendix burst releasing poison into his system and death followed quickly. He married last June to a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Robinson. Funeral plans are not yet set as relatives live far away. Further particulars to appear in next week's Times.
Pheasants were ambushed at daybreak as hundreds of hunters opened fire. The population dropped heavily, likely more than on Friday and Saturday, the remaining open dates. Most hunters reported good luck yesterday.

Mrs James Anderson of Wallingford died Friday at her home. Funeral at the Lutheran church east of Wallingford officiated by Rev P A Davis. Survived by husband two sons Charles and Chris a daughter Mrs Kate Misner two grandchildren four great grandchildren one brother in Denmark. Born December 27 1860 Herdum Denmark died October 18 1929 at 78. emigrated 1873, married James Anderson in Cedar Falls. Lived in Jessup Waterloo before settling Wallingford 47 years ago.
P. J. Paulsen invites debts settlement upstairs over Simonson Brothers Market where his office will be located. An old time dance will be held at Woodman hall next Thursday evening with Otto Laysen's orchestra. A cordial invitation is extended to all to attend.
A Splendid Sale of Majestic Stoves ends Saturday night at the Jensen Huntware amid strong demand. Eight of nine new Majesties were sold during the week and a further sale featuring pure bred Holstein cattle and farming equipment is slated for Tuesday November 26 with details to follow.

Michael Dwyer, about 45, of Emmetsburg, was killed at a Pullman factory near Chicago last Monday. He was caught in a fast moving belt and his body was thrown to a concrete floor, with injuries described as nearly all bones broken. His mother in Emmetsburg died a few years ago.
Albert Thompsen to take charge of Noble Grocery this city Friday November 1 with a formal opening Saturday November 2. The change was noted in the Times weeks ago as Thompsen makes arrangements for opening and transfer of the business.
