Palo Alto Hospital Association to discuss expansion plan
The Palo Alto Hospital Association will hold a general meeting at 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, at the Palo Alto county courthouse in Emmetsburg to discuss a proposed expansion of Palo Alto Memorial Hospital. Dr. A N Kruse said the meeting will feature Frank Briggs of Herman Smith Associates presenting plans to raise beds from 36 to 50–61 and to spend about 330000 with a public subscription goal of 200000.

Crash at intersection injures two construction workers
The collision occurred at an intersection with a car driven by England headed south. England was thrown from the vehicle and pinned beneath it. Eldridge, also a construction worker, was riding with him. both were nine miles east and a mile south of Graettinger and were on a westbound route to work.

$1,087 Damages Awarded In Suit In Palo Alto County
A seven man five woman jury in Palo Alto County District Court awarded $1,087.20 in an accident suit against Hazel Fogde of Gracitinger by Marjorie Lammers Jo Ann Lammers Kimpton and Alfred Lammers after a May 19 1961 calf on the road collision. The jury’s verdict allocated partial sums and noted the plaintiffs sought higher amounts. The court was presided by Judge M Hudson of Pocahontas.
