Thousand Mile Auto Trip Ends With Visit Northeast
Mr. and Mrs. Michaels of this city returned from a thousand mile auto trip Wednesday. With Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Hurd and son Emmet of Wallingford they visited Miloca Minnesota at Peter Weir’s home. From there they drove to Balsam Lake Wisconsin. The women stayed in Balsam Lake while the men went on to Canada to attend to business matters. They were away two weeks and report an enjoyable time.

Fall Festival Draws Large Crowd at Emmerburg
The Emm Earlburg two day fall festival last Wednesday and Thursday attracted many from Graet linger. Readers praised the program and the baseball games and other attractions. Farm produce and livestock exhibited earned valuable prizes and high class prizes were awarded.

Car Turned Over Near Emmetsburg Injures Frost’s Passenger
A vehicle driven by Mr. Frost from Graetting turned over on Monday near Emmetsburg. Mail carrier Earl Jonas stopped to help extract Frost from under the car. Frost was dazed but not seriously hurt, and his young daughter escaped with minor cuts from flying glass. The pair had a very close call.

Spencer man completes 1600 mile Boston to Graettinger hike
Alfred Thompson of Spencer and nephew of Charley Jensen finished a 1600 mile trek from Boston to Graettinger last week. He walked just fifteen miles of the total, traveled in a Packard to Boston in eight days, and returned in nine days, with locals offering food and lifts along the route. He began in September as chauffeur for Mrs. Mary I Moete of Spencer and visited Harvard before the hike home.

Butter competition at Syracuse yields multiple Iowa winners
A. P. Anderson placed third in the butter division at the World's Daily Congress in Syracuse N Y where Otto Weger of Strawberry Point Iowa won first with 96.
