Emmett C Jackman son of P C Jackman Emmetsburg and Miss Helen S George daughter of Ernest S George Groettinger were married Saturday October 1 at 10 80 am at Immaculate Conception parochial church Father James W Fay Kin g officiated Best man was James W Fay and bridesmaid was Helen George. The couple left for a wedding trip in Iowa and will reside in Algona after October 15. The bride a Graettinger native taught in West Union schools for ten years and is from a prominent local family. The groom is a Graettinger resident and a Boorde College graduate. The ceremony was followed by a wedding breakfast served under Miss Clara Suss with Mrs G C Coolidge assisting. The couple will begin housekeeping in Algona.

The car of Henry Willingham of this city collided with an auto driven by A J Johnson of Graettingar Tuesday morning at the A Scott Ormenby corner on Palmer street. Mrs Willingham was cut and required stitches. Johnson and passengers uninjured. both cars damaged at a hazardous street corner with obstructed view.

Funeral Of J H Doerning Held Last Friday
John Herman Doerning born January 10 1850 in Germany died at his daughter's home in Emmetsburg after a sudden illness. Funeral services were at the Catholic church with Rev Father Kelly officiating and the remains interred at Evergreen cemetery. Pallbearers included C C C Rucker Aaron Garrells Frank Lambe Joe Hassel M J Laughlin and M Tindal. A large crowd attended reflecting high esteem for the deceased.

Kellogg Farm Home Destroyed By Fire North Of Depew
A Kellogg farm home occupied by Mr and Mrs W R Kellogg north of Depew burned last Friday night. The buildings and contents were completely destroyed. The Kelloggs were away at Spencer fair and returned after midnight to find the house a ruin. Origin of the fire unknown. Insurance covered the building with Aetna Life and household goods insured for 1200 by County Mutual. Kellogg is brother in law of George Singer of that town.

Donlon Residence Destroyed By Fire Monday
The Donlon Estate residence in the northwest part of town was badly damaged by fire at an early hour Monday morning. After a two hour battle firefighters subdued the flames though the structure is gutted and a total loss. The home housed Mr and Mrs Nanamaker and children and Mr and Mrs Jolius Skowani and children. Much furniture was saved but clothing and personal effects were destroyed. Fire started near the northwest corner by the chimney. Firefighters faced delays due to distance from hydrants and heavy smoke. Temporary quarters were found for affected families, with the Nunamaker family moving to the Cameron building and the Skow family to the Hansen grocery building. The house, built in 1885 by J As Spies, used oak lumber shipped from St Louis. Ownership now rests with Thomas and Mary Donon.
