Fort Dodge native Charley Williams aids Alaska rescues
Charley Williams, a Fort Dodge, Iowa native and Alaska state records analyst, earned a reputation as a hard rock climber on the Search and Rescue Council. He has contributed to 17 major rescues including bear country missions, with a notable incident where he fixed a car battery under pressure for a stranded party in Juneau. He recalls homesteading experiences and works to preserve artifacts with the state museum, while remaining a devoted Alaska resident who prefers the north to the lower 48.
