Graettinger Park vandalism targets PA system and field

Graettinger Police report vandals damaged Evergreen Park last week tearing up grass and breaking goal post tops. Two public address speakers donated by Graettinger American Legion Post in 1971 valued at about 30 dollars each were stolen, with no apparent sales value. Authorities hope for return.

Duck season opens Saturday for 1973 season

The 1973 duck and cool season runs October 6 to October 10, reopens October 20 to November 28. A point system sets bag limits with 100 point ducks, 90 and 25 point species, and a 15 duck daily bag for the cool season with a 30 possession limit. Mississippi River has a closed canvasback and redhead season.

Chance For Apartment At Graettinger Community Homes

Tenants in the Graettinger Community Apartments include Anna Hanningsen Tena Garretts Iva Dobbins Chris Las tine and Lee Kamp. Kamp seeded the lawn and is the unofficial grounds keeper. The Board of Directors praises his work as discussions begin on a second building for seniors and the plan to collect a month’s rent in advance from five prospects to secure a loan. All five apartments were already occupied before October 1 marking good progress toward a second building.
