Mrs. Ragnald Peterson 95 mother of Mrs. Victor Ingvall Estherville died at Balmer rest home November 26 1951 ill earlier this month funeral held at Estherville Lutheran Church with Rev Hinderaker officiating burial beside husband near Graettinger She was born June 4 1856 in Sovde Sogn Norway came to the United States at 19 married Peter P Peterson December 14 1877 seven children born two survive Peter G Peterson of Waterville Minnesota and Mrs Victor Ingvall of Estherville a granddaughter Mrs Dale Westgate of Mankato Surviving and surviving relatives noted The Times extends sympathy to the family and friends.

Hilton Harris 70, born November 9, 1881 at Pomeroy, Iowa, died recently and funeral services were held Friday at the Graettinger Methodist Church with Rev. A. Rasmussen officiating. He married Elizabeth Graven in 1905 and had five children Melvin Everett Robert Harriet Juanita. two grandchildren. He lived in Graettinger and Emmetsburg, was well liked and loyal to friends, and was described as genial with a strong, blunt personality.

Mrs J A Spies was taken to Rochester for medical treatment yesterday. Her condition is not serious, but she has felt tired for several days and was urged by her physician Dr J H Walston to seek treatment there. She is 90 years old and active, a regular at daily Mass at Immaculate Conception church. The Times wishes her a speedy recovery.

John Swift had major surgery at Holy Family hospital Eshterville Monday morning. He was a recent patient who returned home after a prior stay and reentered the hospital last Friday. He is recovering well with friends hopeful for full recovery.

Two HS Band Students In All-State Festival Grand Concert
Two high school musicians took part in the All-State Festival Grand Concert at Drake Fieldhouse Des Moines on November 24 Jonne Shiley first clarinet in the All-State Orchestra and Larry Kirkegaard first snare drum in the All-State Band. The program featured 206 orchestra members 1200 chorus members and 252 band members with selections including Knightsbridge March Gweedore and Sleigh Ride. The event followed two days of sectional auditions across 206 schools. attendees from Graettinger included Dr and Mrs Shiley Susan Mr and Mrs Jens Kirkegaard and Ian Warren Jones.

A Saturday night headon collision on highway 9 near a gravel road intersection left Mrs. Ted Smith critically injured with internal injuries and a broken jaw at Holy Family hospital. Ted Smith and John McCullah of Graettinger also hospitalized with various injuries. McCullah’s condition listed as good.

Lions Club Forms in Graettinger With Nineteen Members
A Lions Club is being organized in Graettinger with nineteen members secured so far. Officers include H A Elsenbast president Adolph Spies vice president M C Clark secretary treasurer and Dale Walker L J Dr J H Walston T T Gerald Best and Robert Carter as directors. Meetings are the first and third Thursdays from 12 00 to 1 00 p m at local cafes. The aim is social with aid for the blind as a major charity and membership may reach fifty or more.

Nancy Young Burns From Hot Coffee Accident
Two year old Nancy Young daughter of Mr and Mrs Elliott Young suffered burns when hot coffee spilled on her shoulder arm and leg. She was taken to Holy Family hospital and at home this week. She ran into a light cord connected with the coffee percolator and will fully recover though the injuries are painful.

Don Olesen suffered a severe injury when he fell from a corn crib while unloading corn. His right arm is broken around the wrist with numerous bones broken. He is recovering but will wear a cast for several weeks. Friends regret his misfortune.
