Mrs Fanny Glasle sues her husband’s parents Mr and Mrs Adam Glasle for 15000 claiming alienation of his affections. Case started Friday in Roxbury Superior Court and will run through the week. The Glasles moved to Dows three years ago with her parents and allegedly influenced the husband to desert wife and infant. Mrs Glasle has since clerked in the Dows Variety Store for eighteen months.
A young man identified only as H. Lane entered the Hatten harness shop and selected husking mitts. He offered a pocket check made out to H. Lane and signed by James Glass. The bank rejected it upon seeing a miswritten signature. No customer by that name exists at the bank.
A Bancroft post office was robbed last Friday at about two am when burglars blew the safe with nitroglycerine and stole stamps and cash. The rear entry was used, a second story sleeper heard nothing, and villagers crowded to view the damaged safe. Local officials say yeggmen likely carried out the crime, noting the office has been blown at least four times in sixteen years. The paper urges all to keep valuables out of the safe and hints at warning burglars to inform the town in advance if they plan future visits.
