Graettinger high school glee clubs staged The Belle of Barcelona directed by Edward Snyder and Miss Genevieve Sands. Cast included Lieutenant Harold Wright played by Lawrence Jensen, Margarita by Elaine Swift, and Don Juan by Wayne Dappen with a large Spanish and Marine chorus. Miss Marie Holte age 19 daughter of Carl Holte of west of Graettinger sustained serious injuries in an auto accident southwest of Graettinger. The car flipped three times causing a wrenched back torn ligaments and heavy bruising. She was taken to Emmetsburg hospital and later returned to Glachtinger to the home of her sister Mrs George Neilsen. Mrs Neilsen had just undergone a serious operation at Emmetsburg hospital.
