Members of Terminal Cooperative of Graettinger and Wallingford receive notices as directors of Farmers Cooperative Terris Milford and Terminal plan a merger. Informational meetings set for June 5 in Graettinger and June 6 in Wallingford review merger articles and growth projections.
A Graettinger Times letter to the editor welcomes Editor s Kids at the print shop and notes a return addressed letter. The article covers Tim Kulow winning the Bausch & Lomb Science Award at Graettinger High School and briar Cliff College Presidential Scholarships for Tim Millea, with track day weather impacts and school events.
The annual meeting includes a welcome address and reports by D F Dogotch and Charles Stillman Jr. on finances and Cooperative operations. Three directors will be elected for three years. nominees include Delbert Dogotch, Merle Laubenthal, Vincent Salz, and others. Earl L. King will speak on Cooperatives, with the Pentoaste Community School Band performing. Prizes include a Westinghouse microwave, two portable TVs, plus a 16 inch portable TV drawing at 8:00 p.m. The Cooperative serves about 2,600 meters on 1,240 miles of REC lines in Pocahontas and Palo Alto Counties, funded by an REA loan, now over 50% repaid with $685,987 in interest to the U.S. Treasury. The meeting is urged for attendance. Lyle Andersen missed a $50 claim, with another $50 drawing on June 1. Market Report Movember shows beans pricing.
