Graettinger Independent baseball team was defeated by Ruthven 12 to 5 on Sunday. Ruthven piled up 12 hits while Graettinger had 10. The Graettinger club showed jitters in field and base running after two rough games but plans to rebound and meet Estherville on Memorial Day at 2:30 p.m. on the local diamond. Purchased School House Sold at Twelve Mile Lake Township
S Bonstead of Graettinger bought one of eight school houses auctioned in Twelve Mile Lake township. The 26 by 28 building with a four pitch roof will be moved to his lots south of the Jen nen residence, with a reduced ceiling from ten to eight and a half feet. Porches will be added to make a cozy home. Barringer also purchased a school house, an 18 by 24 structure with a new 10 by 18 addition. One Estherville man bought four buildings.

A class of 28 graduates received diplomas in Graettinger public schools. Rev. Willard V. Bell of Paullina gave the address, “Signposts on Life's Highway.” The program included processions, musical numbers, and a diploma presentation by Supt. K. M. Chase. Merlin D Geving and his son Lynn of Sanborn visited Graettinger for a business trip. Geving is manager of the Sanborn municipal light plant, which cost 130000 dollars.
