Forest City completed a seven day canvass raising 40145 toward a 150000 endowment for Waldorf Junior College founded in 1908.129 workers solicited 678 subscriptions, with nightly suppers and 19 term reports posted on a large board. High Lake boy dies under tractor wheels
Palmer Walden a nine year old son of Mr and Mrs J M Walden of High Lake township was crushed to death Thursday on the Joan Johnson farm when he jumped onto a just-started tractor and fell between the wheel and its frame. The tractor owned by John Johnson was borrowed by J M Walden for heavy plowing. Albert Walden, who was driving, is blind in one eye and may have failed to see the boy in time. The boy, born May 29 1921, was remembered as an alert pupil. funeral services were held at Riverside Lutheran Church with Rev Nordsletten officiating and a large congregation attending.
