Palo Alto County 1954 corn under price support rises

ASC reports Palo Alto County farmers had 1,735,335 bushels of their 1954 crop corn under price support by March 31. Joe A. Lynch notes the total will grow, as producers have until end of May to secure loans and purchase agreements for the 1958 crop. By March 31 1958, 1,706,755 bushels were farm stored loans, 760 warehouse loans, and 27,820 purchase agreements.

DeWall Brothers Hunt Coyotes Near Graettinger

DeWall Brothers of northeast Graettinger paused corn planting Tuesday to shoot three cub coyotes and wound three others. They fired long range at a mother wolf but the foxyl animal remained distant. As they dug for cubs the animal ran off and was shot three times.
