Grotto of the Redemption at West Bend Iconic Site
The eighth wonder of the world the Grotto of the Redemption in West Bend draws thousands yearly with hourly tours June to mid October. Built by Rev. Father Paul Dobberstein starting 1912 the marble statues from Italy hold immense value over 100000 with stones donated from around the world including a South Pole rock brought by Rev. William Menster. The nine grottos narrate salvation from Eden to the empty tomb with marble carved figures spanning themes from the Garden of Eden to the Resurrection, aided by Father Louis Greving after 1946.
