Scholarship Selected for International Lutheran Summer Seminar
Jane Swanson daughter of Mrs Frans Swanson of rural Grachtinger has been chosen for one of seven ILSSS scholarships at the University of British Columbia Vancouver. Four scholars will come from US universities and three from Canadian ones. The course in Sociological Theory will be taught by Dr Percy Cohen of the University of Leicester England. A weekly seminar will be led by Rev Robert Pearson Lutheran Students chaplain at UBC. The program includes worship daily prayer and outings in Vancouver area. Ace Petersen a native of Graettinger aged 58 died in California during surgery. He had been ill three months. Rites pending in South Pasadena with burial planned at St Pauls Lutheran cemetery here. Survived by four brothers Lars Einer Walter Roy and sister Mrs George Argue.
