Mrs Hannah Halverson Mekkelson an Alta pioneer died at her west Alta home Sunday evening about 11 following a heart attack. She had been in good health for her age and was active in the Danish-Norwegian Methodist Church. Funeral was at the Alta Methodist p Church with Rev G W Eggleston, interment Woodlawn. Born March 1 1845 in Skreen Norway she came to the U S in 1866 and married John Mekkelson in Chicago in 1868. Survivors include five children Bert Alfred Comart John two grandchildren and several siblings. She spent recent years in Alta and was a missionary worker in foreign fields earlier in life.
