Harry Sipes won the Shetland pony in a Saturday contest at the Johnson store with 2,728,500 votes. Anna Hansen placed second with 2,518,045 votes as officials Supt. Gotke and Misses Clara Sen and Cora Christopher tallied results from nine in the morning until about five in the evening. Other prize winners and their votes included Anna Moline 1,614,660, Bred Ruud 1,087,655, Kenneth Swift 907,600, Alvin Michael 642,425, Freda Geil 100,955, Lawrence Jansen 391,900, Henry Hansen 374,050 and Evelyn Horswell 805,755.

Tile Works Installing More Power
Mr. Gringe of the Emmetsburg division of Electric Light reports a force is installing equipment for Graettinger Tile Works. A 30 hp motor at the pumping station river, 20 hp at the tower to operate screens, and a 27 hp motor at the factory are in use. Water is pumped from river to the tower to wash sand and gravel. Drag line power comes from a steam engine. A heavier line from Emmetsburg to Graettinger was built to carry factory load, but the company refused the dragline due to service steadiness concerns.
