Small creamerymen clash with big centralizers over rate ruling
The small creamery owners in Town protest proposed car load rates favored by Armour and Co. and Swift & Co., arguing it would give large firms an $87 per car load advantage and peril small creameries. Hearings began in To peka and move to Chiengs toung with Dairy Commissioners from Minnesota and other states present. About 473 creameries exist in Town, 430 small co operatives or individually owned, 43 centralizers. Most creameries are in small towns and rarely ship a car load.
