Conservation Board Reports On Projects
The Palo Alto County Conservation Board submitted its annual report to the Board of Supervisors. Harry Drum was named president for 1964, Art Welland as secretary-treasurer, and B G Berkland as vice chairman with terms through 1967. Two land development project proposals were reviewed by the State Conservation Commission, including Eddie Dorweiler’s 6.8 acre park near West Bend to be named Eddie's Park. A proposed Highway Rest Area northwest of Emmetsburg and a Lost Island Lake tract facing condemnation are awaiting final approvals or court rulings affecting action and funding.
