C M Nolan aged 78 died at his home near Graettinger on June 20 1945 from a cerebral hemorrhage. Funeral held at the Catholic church Saturday 9:30 am with Revd Hurley presiding. Many floral tributes and a large attendance reflected his wide esteem. Burial in parish cemetery with active and honorary pallbearers listed.

M. O. Erwin Graettinger of the U. S. Merchant Marine sent a small alligator to little Miss Luella Potter. The alligator is on display in the window of Potter's Bakery and Cafe. Next Wednesday's band concert is canceled for the Fourth of July. The next concert will be Wednesday evening July 11. Death of J H Nichtern 73 Family Mourns in Graettinger Madeir a Minnesota
J H Nichtern aged 73 died at his Madeira Minnesota home Saturday June 28 after a brief illness. The Graettinger circle mourns as relatives attend the service held Tuesday. He was born near Eagle Grove Iowa March 18 1872 and married Margaret McFarland January 18 1897. Surviving children number eleven with nine living, plus 19 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Brother Ben Nichtern and sister Rosa Schwenck survive, and Alvin Nichtern had died in 1984. The family moved from Graettinger many years ago and Mr Nichtern was a prosperous farmer. The Times extends sympathy to all relatives.

Feldman Family To Leave For The West Monday
Mr and Mrs Elmer Feldman and their son and daughter will depart Graettinger for Los Angeles California next Monday to bury their eleven year old son Ronald drowned June 9 at Hollenbeck Park. Ronald’s companion tried to save him and a passerby summoned help. another man rescued the boy but he died. The remains were shipped to Graettinger by train as the family travels by auto. The Feldmans, employed by Western Pipe Company of Los Angeles making navy ships, plan to return after the war ending. The community extends heartfelt sympathy to the Feldman family.

Mrs H Leslie Wildey 67 of Pasadena California died from injuries after a head on auto crash last Thursday afternoon. She moved to California in 1920 with her husband and child Alice and was active in veterans auxiliaries. The Wildeys have a daughter in Denver and a grandchild.
