Air Tour At Emmetsburg Draws 8000 Attendees
Eight thousand spectators attended yesterday's air tour at Emmetsburg. The event featured sixty aircraft on display, several contests, a novel glider exhibition, and a rope-walker act with no parachute. Hundreds took rides, and notable ships included the Standard Oil monster aircraft with 1800 horsepower and three motors. the tour ended with a Sioux City bound departure in the afternoon. Endowment Drive Aims 150000 For Waldorf College
Waldorf Lutheran church groups in Iowa Minnesota and Norway Lutheran Church regions have launched a fundraising appeal to raise 150000 to secure the Waldorf College endowment. Fifteen district rallies have drawn over two thousand workers in four weeks as Rev Selmor A Berge of Fort Dodge chairs the effort. The 26 year old institution with 275 students and 18 faculty is the leading junior college in its denominational group and counts 2200 alumni.
