Burglary Strikes East Howard Street Home
The A. C. Brown home on east Howard Street was broken into between midnight and 3 a.m. Saturday. Over $200 in solid silverware plus a small hand grip disappeared after entry through a north window. The burglars ransacked lower rooms, then drank coffee and ate cookies in the kitchen before fleeing. Evidence points to local or professional thieves. no decisive suspect was found.

Four teams moved the power. frightened horses caused a tumble rod to break, tangled the lines, and a 4x4 timber struck near Dan but he escaped unharmed. The power iron twisted and wood splintered. Montgomery Illinois June 11 report recalls last Friday April 16 storm in Montgomery county. Hillsboro suffered the worst hail event with streets and gutters filled by melting ice. Windows skylights roofs were damaged and some injuries occurred. Hailstones measured about three and a half inches in diameter.
