Monday voters in Palo Alto County delivered clear results in a regional election. Harding won the governorship, beating his three opponents combined, with 540 votes to 489 for Allen and 255 for Cosson. State senator Adams led with 416, Francis 499, Wildey 267, Hastings 187, and a strong showing for Woods in county races. Farm Home Destroyed by Fire on Knudtson Estate
Saturday forenoon the residence of Mr and Mrs William Blom on the Graettinger area farm was totally destroyed by fire. Unknown origin. Mrs Blom was in the barn basement when the house caught fire. all furniture and wearing apparel were lost. Neighbors arrived too late. sparks set the barn on fire but were extinguished. Blom had 300 dollars coverage. The Ole Knudtson estate owns the house which will be rebuilt.

First National to Build New Graettinger Bank
At a Tuesday directors meeting the First National bank decided to erect a one story white brick building on the corner lot west of Osher's store. It will include safety deposit vaults, a customers' room and directors' room with modern fixtures. Worthy Couple Honored Before Moving to Graettinger
A large gathering of old friends and neighbors surprised Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Mahan at their country home Sunday evening to honor their pending move to Graettinger. They received a silver knife and fork set as thanks. Mahan, a sixty year resident, was part of Palo Alto’s Trish colony begun in 1856, one of seven survivors among 31 original members.
