Milk and Health Urge More Intake in Iowa Regions
In a June emphasis from the Iowa State Department of Health, residents are urged to drink more milk as dairy production reaches about three billion quarts yearly. A 1949 survey found 15 percent of 3,288 rural and town children drank no milk, and 82 percent met adequate intake. adults are advised two glasses daily, children four to six, and 50 plus one pint daily unless a physician advises otherwise. Milk provides protein, calcium, and riboflavin, with Grade A pasteurized milk offered as best value and safety.

Students Need Social Security Cards For Summer Work
Clifford W. Swedlund of the Fort Dodge social security office says students working in summer jobs under federal law must have social security cards. A card is required for all ages unless a under 21 works for a parent. Applications for originals and duplicates are at post offices and mailed to Fort Dodge. Swedlund will be at Emmetaburg employment office June 18 to explain the law and aid applicants. The Diamond Sutra, dated May 11 868, is cited as the oldest printed book in the British Museum.
