The Editor thanks local wrestlers for their hard work and dedication noting their state achievements and ongoing promise. The column labels wrestlers as unsung heroes while urging appreciation for those left out in prior praise. This One's For You represents a nod to deserving athletes.
The schedule lists J. V. games at 6 00 p m and Varsity at 7 30 p m all contests held at Evergreen Field with no locations or dates provided.
Community notice requests donations to cover a $54.38 prom breakfast bill. Six parents contributed from 1:00 to 7:00 a.m.: Mr. and Mrs. Avery Bonnstead Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Nissen Mrs. Madelyn Andre Jo Ann Kinn ett Bernice Masters and Janis Cox. Donations can be sent to Madelyn Andre with hopes for an annual event.
Pee Wee and Mite baseball schedule runs Tuesdays and Thursdays June to July with rain contingency on KICD Spencer or KEMB Essex. Contact John Millen at 859 3465 or 852 2323 for questions. Players listed signed up include Paul Schealler Wade Alesch Craig Schacherer and many others. Uniforms from last year must be returned to John Millen for inventory and redistribution.
The famous American Big Top Circus arrives in Graettinger for one day only with 6:00 and 8:00 p m performances. More than twenty motorized units arrive before dawn to set up tents at Graettinger Ball Park inviting elephants, clowns, acrobats, trained dogs and ponies to a colorful show.
The American Legion funded supplies for a new shelter house at Graettingen Ball Park and volunteers are urged to help this Saturday, June 4. The plan is to finish the second shelter by the Fourth of July for summer picnics, with many people hoping for broad assistance.
Viola Henningsen reposted to the Times Office that May rainfall totaled 2.06 inches, above the prior year's 1.61 inches. She noted the May average is about 4 inches and urged more moisture is welcome.
Word reached Mrs. Bessie Howard of the death of her nephew Carl Gallemeyer in a Waterloo hospital. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Clarksville. Gallemeyer formerly worked in Graettinger and Wallingford.
The Iowa District Court Palo Alto County issues probate of Irene T. Heidecker’s will on May 19 1977 appointing Francis Heidecker as executor. Creditors must file claims within six months after the second publication dated June 2 1977. actions to set aside the will must be brought within six months.
The Legion and Auxiliary will hold its regular monthly meeting on June 7 at 8 p.m. at the Legion Hall.
Clarence Melvin Dahle 70 died quietly while fishing at Clear Lake Iowa on May 12 1977 born January 8 1907 in Estherville Iowa son of Torger and Dorthea Dahle. He lived in Nekoma North Dakota Estherville Britt and Wallingford Iowa worked a Britt service station 1934 1969 member Evangelical Free Church Britt charter Lions Club fire department veteran with a large family and friends. Burial Evergreen Cemetery Britt.
