Graettinger Park Hosts Three Tournaments This Summer

The Graettinger ball park’s facilities gain praise as three tournaments ran last week. Despite hospitalization, Charlie Henningsen chaired the summer recreation committee with Mrs. Henningsen and others keeping the program on schedule. Young people today seek to follow someone’s tire tracks more than footsteps.

Spirit Lake Midgets Beat Graettinger In Tourney Semifinals

Spirit Lake Midgets scored four runs in the first inning to win 4 to 2 over Graettinger in the Iowa Great Lakes tournament semifinals. Graettinger led off with one run in the second after two hit batsmen and a walk. Ron Petersen crossed in the fourth on the locals' lone hit. Cornelius and Park were the pitchers for Graettinger, Scoft and Hall the winning battery for Spirit Lake.

Light Plant Proceedings July 10 1961 Town Meeting

The board met July 10 1961 with all members present and approved minutes as read. Bills were paid in full. An application to connect gas service to Graettinger Municipal Natural Gas System was signed. Transfer of 10000 from general fund to bond fund was approved. Myrtle Nissen salary raised retroactively from 160 to 180 per month effective July 1 1961. Meeting adjourned.
