Los Angeles Tales of Riverside and Graettinger Figures
In a travelogue style column from Los Angeles the author recounts meetings with Helen Sullivan a navy employee at Terminal Island and Kathryn Fogarty cousin to the Times publisher. Intertwined are recollections of Graettinger Emmetsburg ties, ordination at St. Vibiana's cathedral, and visits with Father Charles Cassidy and Miss Maurine Kelly. A Long Beach day trip describes Signal Hill oil towers, pumping machinery, and an extensive oil field landscape observed from the road.
